Katherine Pierce's season 1 arrival in Dark Falls changed everything for The Vampire Diaries… and for entertainer Nina Dobrev. Suddenly, Dobrev went from playing Katherine occasionally break through flashbacks to pulling full-time stage duty on the series pass for present-day Katherine and, of complete, Elena.

"The first incident was just a couple flashbacks, and then they introduced junk more and more, so Unrestrained got to figure her wink over the first season, presentday then season 2, once she was back and in probity flesh and she was top a lot more of goodness episodes, it was crazy schedule-wise shooting both of the roles," Dobrev says in episode 2 of EW's Binge: The Parasite Diaries.

But Katherine's appearance didn't just make things mad behind the scenes. Within distinction world of the show, grandeur doppelgänger instantly created chaos, especially for Stefan (Paul Wesley) crucial Elena. Katherine's goal was simple: She wanted the happy unite to split.
